Sharing and watching
Understand viewer insights
What counts as a view and a viewer, how “watched to the end” is measured, and how to export the data.
Open a video you own and choose Insights.
- Viewers are distinct people. Signed-in teammates show by name; people without an account show by the name they commented with, or as anonymous.
- Views count every time someone starts watching.
- Watched to the end is the share of views that reached 90% of the video.
- Average watch time is how long a view lasts, counting only time actually played.
The retention chart shows the share of views that reached each point of the video, so a drop tells you where people stopped. Turn on Show charts as tables to read the numbers.
On Pro and Team, Export viewers (CSV) downloads the viewer list.
