Transcripts, captions and summaries
Every video gets captions, a transcript, a short summary and chapters on every plan. Here is how they work.
About a minute after a video finishes uploading, it gets a transcript, captions, a summary and chapters. This happens on every plan, including Free.
- Transcript: open the Transcript tab beside the video. The current line is highlighted as it plays; click any line to jump there.
- Captions: viewers turn them on with the CC button or the C key.
- Summary and chapters: shown under the video. Click a chapter to jump to it.
- Search: the command menu (Ctrl + K) searches what was said in every video, not just titles.
If a transcript looks wrong, the video owner can run it again from the Transcript tab.
